Hip Replacement
in Dubai

Total hip replacement is one of the most successful procedures in orthopaedic surgery, reliably relieving pain and restoring mobility in patients with end-stage hip arthritis. The procedure replaces the damaged ball-and-socket joint with metal, ceramic, and plastic components designed to replicate the natural movement of the hip.

The Procedure

During total hip replacement, the damaged femoral head (ball) is removed and replaced with a metal stem and ceramic or metal ball. The damaged acetabulum (socket) is resurfaced with a metal cup and plastic or ceramic liner. The components are fixed either with bone cement or press-fit into the bone, depending on bone quality and patient age.

Dr. Haidar discusses surgical approach, implant choice, and fixation method at the initial consultation, tailoring the plan to each patient's anatomy, activity level, and long-term goals.

Rehabilitation begins the day after surgery. A structured physiotherapy programme guides recovery through staged milestones — from walking with a frame to independent mobility and return to daily activities.
