Hip Preservation
Surgery in Dubai

Hip preservation surgery aims to correct structural problems in the hip — such as femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), labral tears, and dysplasia — before they progress to irreversible cartilage damage and arthritis. For younger, active patients, preserving the native hip is a priority.

Conditions Treated

Hip preservation encompasses a range of procedures performed arthroscopically (keyhole) or through limited open approaches. The most common indications are femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) — where abnormal bone shape causes the hip to pinch during movement — and labral tears, which cause groin pain, clicking, and instability.

Arthroscopic surgery allows Dr. Haidar to reshape the abnormal bone (osteoplasty), repair or reconstruct the labrum, and address cartilage damage — all through small keyhole incisions with minimal disruption to the surrounding muscles.

The goal is to relieve pain, restore function, and — critically — protect the hip joint from progressive damage that would otherwise lead to early arthritis and the need for replacement surgery.
